Razorback Fan Serendades Team After Loss

I found this delightful video on the Dr. Saturday blog on Yahoo! Sports. Oh my goodness!

LizHoney2U- as her name appears on YouTube– posted this video September 9th the day after the Arkansas Razorbacks were stunned with an overtime loss to Lousiana-Monroe 34-31. To make matters worse, the Razorbacks were up 28-7 at halftime… and their fifth-yard senior quarter back missed the second half due to a head injury… and worse is questionable for the next game Alabama.

Lets talk about this match up for a second… Alabama is current ranked number one in all polls and their defense looks solid as always. And while I appreciate LizHoney2U’s optimism that the Razorbacks can just brush off a loss like that I’m just not sure.

The Razorbacks were ranked number 8 in the country before the loss now they can’t be found on a ranking sheet.

Of course when Virginia Tech loss their two opening games in 2010, Boise State and James Madison University, the Hokies went on to be ACC champs only to lose to Stanford in the Orange Bowl. And they stayed nationally ranked, which because I’m bias will not comment on other than how do you lose two high profile games and retain a national ranking? VT was also in the ACC which was questionable in the football in 2010. Arkansas and Alabama are in the SEC which is basically NFL junior. And I doubt Nick Saban‘s crew is going to underestimate the Razorbacks based on this one loss. No Saban’s team will be prepared to win. So the if the SEC were the ACC then I would have more hope for Razorbacks but there are just too many big fish in that pond.

Another example, Michigan lost to Appalachian St in 2007 it didn’t recover, it fell from the national rankings and it has only been recently that the team has seen a resurgence… and oh yeah Michigan loss this season to Alabama 41-14.

But you can’t deny this fan’s spirit… hat choice maybe but its the thing to wear in Arkansas.
